About Deoksugung Stone Wall Road
Deoksugung was originally called Gyeongungung. It took the name Deoksugung after Emperor Gojong stepped down from the throne in 1907. The stone-wall road starts beside Daehanmun Gate and follows the palace wall toward Jeongdong.
The stretch beside the British Embassy was closed off for nearly 60 years from 1959. Part of it opened in 2017, and when the last 70 m opened in December 2018, the whole road of about 1.1 km was connected.
At night, the glow of the streetlights spreads across the wet stone wall and pavement. On rainy nights it becomes a quiet road where only the sound of rain on umbrellas and footsteps remain.
While you listen
This is the last song on the album. On your way home at the end of the day, I wanted it to say for me: you did well today.
Getting there
Come out of City Hall Station (Lines 1 and 2) toward Daehanmun Gate and you're right there.
